LE technology provides a critical advantage to the modern military. As fuel cost (and the associated costs for transporting fuel) rise and draw the attention of governments and their people, national defense agencies increasingly demand higher fuel savings and efficiencies, while continuing to support increased energy needs, from defense support industries. LE’s rotating machine technology runs at significantly higher efficiency rates than any other comparable generator/motor in the industry, which provides the ability to use smaller engines—more electrification and less internal combustion. These benefits are currently leveraged into applications such as back-up communications power, on-board vehicle power, and traction drive systems.
